Many people have the impression that starting a home based business will cost a lot of money, or may require some sort of small business loan. However, it is possible work at home part time and start with little to no cash, as long as you own or have access to a computer (with internet connection). Your local university/community college or library can usually provide you with this. If you have access to these facilities, then guess what?! You can literally get started with nothing!
Now notice I said you can start your home based business with little to no MONEY – but it will take an INVESTMENT. You must invest your time, energy, skills, and a little bit of sweat equity. As long as you are really willing to spend the time and research necessary to build your business every day – you will succeed.
One way to do this is by setting up a free lens at Squidoo and marketing other people’s products. Step-by-step instructions for setting up your lens is included when you join Squidoo. Another idea (if you have a small amount of capital to invest) is to set up a blog at Blogger or WordPress. Both of these sites are free to set up, however you will have to purchase your own domain name which you can do for as little as .99 cents at a domain site (GoDaddy is a good one). This is with no investment on your part, except for the time it takes to advertise your blog or lens. Read the rest of this entry »

This is why if you are trying to reach a state of success online you need to carefully analyze your goals before you get to the stage of simply handing over money to a stranger. The first step is to determine what kind of online business you want as this will help you narrow down what areas you need help in and thus narrow down your coaching options.
The way to look at your business options is to decide if you want to be in sales also known as affiliate marketing, or in information or entertainment creation. This crucial separation will help you immensely in terms of monetizing your website and it will also narrow down your options.
The primary distinction here is that if you are providing information or entertainment your primary focus is on generating great content. This content will keep people coming back to your blog or website and you can make money from this traffic by hosting a series of ads on your site.
In the other business model of direct or affiliate sales your goal is to drive customers to your website. Now this is considerably harder as the search for customers is much more competitive than the search for regular visitors.
A customer is someone who is ready to buy a product and thus represents profit to everyone working online. This is definitely the more direct route to Google profusion as you will be making money instantly from your traffic.
If you choose direct sales then you would want to look for a work at home coach that has experience with Google AdWords and search engine optimization. These two skill sets will ensure that your coach will teach you the right methods. Read the rest of this entry »
